When did you start your website and why?
I started the website about 1 year ago as a lobor of love.
Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc
No real business model for the website. Unless you consider losing money a model. The site is absolutely free for anyone to use. There are no hidden costs or any "upgradable" plans or anything like that. I just wanted to create something that people could use to find fun people to hang out with. That's it.
I've been vacationing in Maui for well over 10 years and have made a lot of friends here. After hearing from so many people that they wish there was a website for singles on maui to connect when traveling alone, I decided to give this website a try! You'll never have to pay anything in order to use this site EVERYTHING is absolutely free to use and there are no catches. This website is a labor of love and I will continue to maintain it for my friends and the island community of Maui.
What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?
I suppose, just the routine answering of questions from members on the site, and trying to let everyone on the island know about it. Whenever you try to advertise something for free, people think you're up to something. I figure folks will eventually figure out what a great resource it truly is..
What has been the easist part of operating your website?
watching it grow.
What was your biggest mistake?
Not starting the website sooner.

I think that ecommerce and website business in general is the next big market. I think it'll become the next real estate boom. except it'll be virtual real estate.

Diffinitely good to optimize you site for seraches. that way poeple will find your stuff.
